These bright eye-catching posters provide 5 common classroom norms that keep things simple and effective!
We all love the input of students when it comes to agreeing on a set of classroom rules, however it can be quite time-consuming condensing ideas! Leaving the norms slightly broader in this way eliminates obvious rules such as 'no throwing objects' or 'don't scribble on your page'. It also promotes the use of positive language, e.g. 'we always respect others'.
I still love to have students engage in a discussion about what we would like our classroom to look, sound and feel like. What I have found though is that no matter the range of ideas, they always fall under these 5 umbrellas.
