This Bundle includes the following resources to support the teaching of early number and place value awareness within 100:

PLACE VALUE MATS (WITH 9 FRAMES):
These place value charts are ideal for Grade One/First Grade students who are at the beginning stages of their place value knowledge. The inclusion of a '9 frame' in the ones/units column allows students to recognise that once they count/collect more than nine they need to make a group/bundle of ten. They must then move it into the tens column.
The charts are also labelled with both 'ones' and 'units', depending on your preferred terminology.
In both colour and B&W, there are multiple variations of the charts to suit a range of needs.

ROLL & BUILD TEEN TOWERS:
Reinforce students understanding of teen numbers with this fun building challenge!
Using Unifix or connecting blocks, have students build towers of ten first and then roll a ten sided dice to find the add-on amount. They then need to find the matching tower square in which to place it. This game will assist students develop early place value awareness of teen numbers being 10 plus _?_ more. It will also help students understand why we record the '1' ten first in a given teen number.
As an additional challenge, students can verse another student to see who can be first to build all their towers. The final square can be used as a free choice amount.
